- After one of the most thoroughly dominant title seizures in UFC history, newly minted strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk is set to defend her title for the first time against Jessica Penne when the UFC returns to Germany on June 20.
- Claudia Gadelha, who battled Jedrzejczyk to a split-decision loss in December, was set to face Aisling Daly at UFC Fight Night 64, but had to bow out after suffering a back injury. Daly eventually fought at UFC 186, losing a unanimous decision to Randa Markos.
- Maryna Moroz violently burst onto the strawweight scene at the UFC's first foray into Poland on April 11, tapping out highly regarded striker Joanne Calderwood with a slick, first-round armbar.
- Livia Renata Souza claimed the Invicta FC strawweight title with a fourth-round triangle choke victory over Katja Kankaanpaa at Invicta FC 12 in April.
