Doc Rivers: Chris Paul 50-50 for Game 2 vs. Rockets on Wednesday
Fans are waiting with bated breath for an update on the status of Chris Paul, but they'll likely have to wait until Wednesday for an answer.
For now, the Los Angeles Clippers' star point guard remains questionable for Game 2 of the team's Western Conference semifinal in Houston, with head coach Doc Rivers pegging Paul's status at 50-50.
Paul suffered a hamstring injury in the first quarter of the Clippers' Game 7 victory over the San Antonio Spurs before carrying the team in a heroic, series-clinching performance.
The Point God was officially listed as questionable for the opener, but was seen walking "gingerly" at shootaround ahead of Game 1.
Rivers decided to hold Paul out of action and start son Austin Rivers, despite CP3's attempt to negotiate his way into the lineup.
The Clippers had no problem getting it done without Paul on the floor. Blake Griffin put the team on his back and recorded a triple-double in the victory, leading with 26 points, 14 rebounds and a career-high 13 assists.
Given that the Clippers are already assured a split in Texas, and will return to L.A. with, at worst, home court advantage in a virtual best-of-five, Doc may feel comfortable giving Paul another game of rest.
