Mayweather being sued for defamation
Mere days after emerging victorious in the "Fight of the Century" against Manny Pacquaio, Floyd Mayweather could have another fight on his hands - this time in the courtroom.
Josie Harris, the mother of three of Mayweather's children, is suing the pound-for-pound great for defamation following comments Mayweather made during an interview with Yahoo! news anchor Katie Couric leading up to the bout.
Mayweather told Couric he was merely restraining a drug-addled Harris during their infamous dispute in 2010, after which Mayweather was arrested and charged with domestic abuse.
Harris disagrees.
"The statements by Mayweather during the Couric interview were totally and unequivocally false and defamatory," Harris's lawsuit states, according to The Associated Press. "The true facts are Harris was not a drug-abuser or drug-addict."
Harris is seeking $20 million from the boxer, who earned more than $100 million for his victory over Pacquiao last week.
