One of Larry Bird's greatest strengths was his passing, compiling 1,062 assists in 164 playoff games. On Friday night, LeBron James moved ahead of Bird for fourth on the all-time postseason dimes list.
The Cleveland Cavaliers forward also passed Tony Parker and Steve Nash, who were bunched behind Bird on the list. Coming into Game 2 against the Chicago Bulls, James had 1,059 assists in the exact same amount of playoff games that Bird appeared in - 164.
Magic Johnson is the runaway leader in the category and may never be caught. He has 2,346 playoff assists, over 1,200 more than James.
John Stockton is second and Jason Kidd ranks third all-time.
