Vikings' Mike Zimmer not expecting any issues from Adrian Peterson
The NFL draft has come and gone, and Adrian Peterson remains a member of the Minnesota Vikings.
That doesn't necessarily mean everything between the two parties is all well and good, though. Peterson voiced his displeasure over how the Vikings failed to stand by him during his legal issues last season, prompting rumors and reports that the veteran running back would be dealt.
Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer told reporters Wednesday that despite all that's happened, he doesn't expect any issues from Peterson when he reports to mandatory minicamp in June.
"There's a lot of its and nuts and candies and buts there," Zimmer said. "I don’t think there will be any issues, no."
If Peterson is intent on no longer playing for the Vikings, his only recourse at this point would be to not show up next month and throughout the offseason in hopes of forcing a trade.
That would be easier said than done. Minnesota could fine Peterson if he goes that route and the running back has millions of reasons in his contract to play for the Vikings this season.
