Poll: NBA fans believe Michael Jordan could beat LeBron James 1-on-1 today
A recent poll conducted by Public Policy Polling has proven that more than one-third of NBA fans may have questionable decision-making abilities, perhaps due to the high levels of stress caused by the NBA playoffs.
Out of 1,471 registered voters surveyed between May 7-10, 34 percent believe Michael Jordan - who retired in 2003 - could defeat Cleveland Cavaliers' star forward LeBron James in a game of 1-on-1 ... today.
Not 15 years ago. Not if both players were in the prime of their respective careers, but right now, when Jordan is 52 years old and James is 30.
The age disparity apparently isn't enough to deter the delusional from picking the Chicago Bulls' legend to emerge victorious in a game of playground ball in 2015.
James passed Jordan for ninth all-time in postseason assists with his 1,023rd during Game 1 of the Cavaliers' first-round series with the Boston Celtics. Perhaps some fans are bitter that players are starting to pass His Airness in statistical categories.
In a YouTube ad for last year's NBA 2K14 video game, Jordan listed off a slew of NBA greats he could defeat 1-on-1 in his prime, including James.
That's in his prime, though, clearly not the case now.
