The Atlanta Braves have selected lefty pitcher Kolby Allard with the 14th overall pick in the 2015 MLB Draft.
It's a risky pick for the Braves, as Allard suffered a stress fracture in his back, forcing him to miss his senior year. But if there was an injured player in the draft who still deserved a high pick, it was Allard.
Such a quiet pitcher on the mound, the tall southpaw knows how to strike batters out. Allard has extreme giddy-up on his fastball and plus off-speed, which makes him an interesting follow in the minors.

Overview
Allard has a lot of upside mainly because he has room to build muscle. He's steady at low-to-mid 90's with some arm-side run, touching 95 as a senior.
He also has tremendous command of a sharp curveball that bites at 81 miles per hour. What makes Allard so appealing, though, is his easy, repeatable delivery and upside given his frame. Allard's overall motion on the mound is consistent to say the least.
It's also worth mentioning that he doesn't fully use his lower half, but still manages to generate tremendous torque.
