Twitter reacts to Marlins' reported hiring of GM Dan Jennings as manager
The Miami Marlins are, if anything, breaking new ground.
Late Sunday night - after the club did a stellar job of staying mum on who will replace Mike Redmond as their new manager - someone cracked.
But the candidate reportedly to be introduced Monday morning is general manager Dan Jennings, a man with no professional on-field playing or coaching experience.
Naturally, the Twitterverse is having a good time with the news ahead of the announcement:
Pretty sure Jeffrey Loria went to a retreat in California, said om a couple times and came up with the idea to make his GM his manager, too.

Who's more qualified to manage in the big leagues right now? Dan Jennings or Ron Wotus? Marlins puck the 1980s high school coach.

Was told last night I couldn't get the Marlins' manager choice with 100 guesses. I'm not sure 1,000 guesses would've been sufficient

Jeffrey Loria makes me laugh!

I hope Dan Jennings wears a suit in the dugout.

As Dan Jennings takes over as MIA manager w/out experience, faces greatest challenges of anyone since Jerry Coleman moved from SD booth '80.

Dan Jennings is a very sharp baseball mind, but again, it's another hire of a white manager with zero experience.

Does Dan Jennings just tell players in the dugout they've been traded at the deadline? I have so many questions.
