VIDEO: Kyrie Irving has a father, and he's not LeBron
David Richard-USA TODAY Sports
LeBron James may be a leader on the Cleveland Cavaliers, but he is not fathering the grown men on his team.
After the Cavs finished Monday's practice, a reporter asked Kyrie Irving what type of parental role James has taken on with his teammates. After much confusion about what exactly the reporter was asking, the point guard made it clear he has only one father - shoutout to Drederick Irving.
Irving, who says he will play in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Atlanta Hawks despite battling right foot strain and left knee tendinitis, did credit James with the leadership role he does play on the team, calling him a "great influence."
But he's not Drederick Irving.
