Report: NHL could face significant legal bill in 60-player concussion lawsuit

The NHL might have to crack open the vault.
The league will reportedly have to pay $13.5 million to produce medical records for the near 6,000 players who may - or may not - have suffered a brain injury during their years in the NHL, according to TSN's Rick Westhead.
The league believes the "extraordinary cost", plus the importance of maintaining the privacy of those not involved in the lawsuit that was brought to the league by 60 former players, is sufficient reason to deny the request - and save the cash.
Commissioner Gary Bettman was recently ordered to offer testimony in the case, which was filed in November 2013.
