Report: Warriors' Thompson not having headaches, confident he'll play in Game 1 on Thursday
When the Golden State Warriors try their hand at winning an NBA Championship, they expect Klay Thompson will be there to help.
Thompson is not having headaches from his diagnosed concussion and expects to play in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday, reported Yahoo Sports' Marc Spears on Sunday night.
On Saturday, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said everything with the shooting guard is "going well" and he expects his shooting guard to be ready for the opening act against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The team confirmed Friday that Thompson suffered a concussion in their Game 5 victory over the Houston Rockets after Trevor Ariza kneed him in the side of the head in the fourth quarter. Golden State had given no timetable for his return.
Thompson briefly left the game after his ear started to bleed, but was cleared for action. He went to the locker room once more for stitches to his right ear laceration.
Thompson developed concussion-like symptoms later that night, claiming to be woozy on the drive home and vomiting several times.
On Sunday afternoon, Thompson attended an Oakland Athletics game and played coy about participating in practice on Monday.
