- Carlos Condit impressed in his return from a torn ACL, delivering a nose-destroying TKO victory against Thiago Alves at UFC Fight Night 67 in May.
- Rory MacDonald will look to return the UFC welterweight strap back to Canadian soil when he takes on champion Robbie Lawler at UFC 189 in July. A key turning point in Lawler's career renaissance came at MacDonald's expense in 2013 when he snuck by the "Red King" via split-decision at UFC 167.
- World Series of Fighting welterweight champion – and noted leg-destroying madman – Rousimar Palhares is set to defend his title against former Strikeforce middleweight champion Jake Shields at WSOF 22 in August. Shields is 2-0 since jumping ship from the UFC, racking up a pair of submission victories over Ryan Ford and Brian Foster.
