• In the most anticipated featherweight bout in UFC history, long-time champion Jose Aldo will finally get to inflict violence on brash Irishman Conor McGregor at UFC 189 in July.
• Chad Mendes is the best 145-pounder in the world this side of Aldo, and solidified that status with an absolute pasting of fellow former title-challenger Ricardo Lamas at a Fight Night event in April.
• Frankie Edgar continued to prove himself as one of the greatest lighter-weight fighters to ever set foot in a cage when he took an easy decision over former WEC champion Urijah Faber in May.
• Bellator featherweight champion Patricio "Pitbull" Freire defends his title against Daniel Weichel at Bellator 138 in June. Friere is on a six-fight winning streak, while Weichel has won seven in a row.
