With coach Fred Hoiberg gone to the Chicago Bulls, Iowa State is struggling to agree on his successor.
The Cyclones' administration is reportedly split over who to hire as their next basketball coach, according to CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein.
Athletic director Jamie Pollard is backing the promotion of assistant coach T.J. Otzelberger, but school president Dr. Steven Leath is looking for a "brand name" to fill the position.
"He feels the level of the job has changed since Fred got here," a source said. "He wants to bring in someone with some pedigree. It's a battle of wills right now."
However, Pollard is reportedly set to meet with Cyclones players Tuesday about how to fill the vacancy in the best way possible.
