VIDEO: Steph Curry has officially caught fire in Game 1
Oracle Arena is lit. Game 1 has turned into way too much fun. And Steph Curry has officially caught fire in Oakland.
After a cold, 6-of-21 start as a team in the first quarter, the Golden State Warriors found their offensive footing in the second frame. As is their calling card, they did so with terrific ball movement, unselfish play, and a superstar who rains napalm from outside.
First, there was Curry hitting from the left corner, where he's now 13-of-14 in the playoffs. The highlight hardly does the play justice, as it was Curry's dribbling mastery on a pick-and-roll on the opposite side of the floor that eventually led to a mismatch and the requisite space to let the three fly.
It wasn't long before Curry turned a few good possessions into a full-on hot streak, poking a ball free on the defensive end and then delivering his patented Steph-back jumper in transition for another triple.
Consider Curry himself mildly impressed with his own performance.
Curry finished the second quarter with 10 points on 4-of-4 shooting with four assists, giving him 14 points and four dimes for the half. More importantly, the Warriors turned a 29-19 first-quarter deficit into a 48-48 tie at the break.
If the first half of Game 1 is any indication, this series is going to be incredible.
