PHOTO: Boris Diaw has the best offseason regimen in sports
Dinner for One with Boris Diaw should really be a show on the Food Network.
The affable San Antonio Spurs big man is up to his usual offseason course of rest, relaxation, and recovery, and it's little surprise that food and drink are involved. That's not a shot at Diaw's size, though it's enough of a running joke that his contract has weight-related clauses, but the recognition of a trend: Diaw enjoys the finer things in his downtime.
Last offseason, Diaw toasted a glass of wine to head coach Gregg Popovich. This year, Diaw is out in Bermuda, dining alone but not forgetting about you, the fan, and keeping you abreast of his adventures.
Diaw should probably be on any short list of players a fan would like to dine with, not only because he's funny and interesting, but because it's a guarantee he knows the best eateries in all 30 NBA cities.
The 33-year-old Diaw, by the way, averaged 8.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists this season, more or less the same as in 2013-14 but slightly less efficient, so last offseason's regiment didn't do him any obvious harm.
