Kerr on Warriors' jump-shooting label: 'We were also the best defensive team'

Charles Barkley has remained steadfast in his belief that a jump-shooting team would never win an NBA championship.

On Tuesday, perhaps the finest jump-shooting team the league has ever seen, led by the aptly named Splash Brothers, captured the Golden State Warriors' first championship in 40 years, taking a go-to narrative away from many a talking heads like Barkley.

As his Warriors celebrated that title, Steve Kerr was asked about Barkley's oft-shouted comments.

Of course, the Warriors weren't your average jump-shooting unit, as the champs also dominated the defensive end of the court, something Kerr ensured wouldn't be lost on anyone in the wake of the team's triumph.

The Warriors, who shot nearly 40 percent from deep on the year, allowed a league-low 98.2 points per 100 possessions during the regular season - more than a full point less than the second-ranked Milwaukee Bucks' defense - while holding opponents to 42.8 percent shooting.
