Boston Bruins forward Carl Soderberg seems to be very high on himself.
The pending unrestricted free agent is set to hit the open market on July 1 and with pending UFAs now given a six-day window to negotiate with interested clubs, the 29-year-old has set his price, according to ESPN's Pierre LeBrun.
"Word is that Soderberg's camp is looking for $5 million per year," said LeBrun. "He may not get that, but there’s no harm in trying."
Soderberg is coming off a three-year contract with the Bruins that saw him make just $1 million last season, so his newest demands seem a little steep.
Regardless, LeBrun suggests that as many as 7-8 clubs have shown interest in the Bruins center.
Soderberg had 13 goals and 44 points in 82 games last season.
