The Charlotte Hornets selected Argentine small forward Juan Vaulet with the 39th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft on Thursday night, then reportedly traded him to the Brooklyn Nets.

In return, the Hornets will receive the Nets' second-round picks in 2018 and 2019. That may not seem like such a steep price, but given how bare the Nets' cupboard is, especially in regards to their draft picks for the next several years, it's not nothing, either. They clearly see something they like in Vaulet.

It probably isn't his jumper.

His kingdom for a jumper. Vaulet checks off a lot of boxes that NBA decision-makers want, but his woeful shot - not only ineffective, but downright ugly - leaves him short on ultimate potential. He's still only 19, though. This is a long-term draft-and-stash play, and it's certainly conceivable he improves in time.

To do so, he'll need to build on his quickness and athleticism, turning those abilities into production. He averaged 7.2 points and 4.2 rebounds for Weber Bahia Estudiantes of the Argentine league, the same club team for which Manu Ginobili played before heading to Italy ahead of the NBA.
