Kristaps Porzingis: Goes 4th Overall to Knicks
Porzingis was drafted by the Knicks with the fourth pick of the 2015 NBA Draft.
Analysis:
Porzingis, an explosive 7-1, 220 pound Latvian, played last season for Sevilla (Spain), averaging 10.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.0 block in 22 minutes across 34 league games. Additionally, the 19-year-old Porzingis shot 46 percent on three-pointers in Eurocup play. At this stage in his career, Porzingis is most noted for his impressive measurables, which include a massive 7-6 wingspan, and deep shooting prowess, but he's expected to need some time to add the strength and polish required at the NBA level. Given the Knicks' bare roster, Porzingis would figure to receive significant playing time at power forward, where his outside touch could fit well within New York's offensive scheme, with his height offering decent potential in rebounding and shot blocking categories as well.
