The Atlanta Hawks selected international prospect Marcus Eriksson with the No. 50 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.
This pick was acquired from the Toronto Raptors in a trade that sent NBA Sixth Man of the Year Lou Williams north of the border.
Eriksson is a 21-year-old shooting guard from Sweden, a rare birthplace for a potential NBA talent. At 6-foot-7.5 and with a 6-foot-8.75 wingspan, he has the length of an NBA wing, though he's largely inexperienced at this point.
Playing on a team with Mario Hezonja has its perks, and it appears Hawks' scouts grew familiar with Eriksson despite him playing only five minutes for Barcelona last year. In 2013-14, he played for a lesser ACB team, averaging 11.2 points and 1.8 rebounds while hitting 37.5 percent of his threes.
This is strictly a draft-and-stash candidate, and the Hawks will watch to see how he develops in the Barcelona hot bed next season.
