Report: Aminu to visit several teams including Knicks, Raptors
Forward Al-Farouq Aminu, who has exercised his player option with the Dallas Mavericks, plans to visit with several potential suitors, according to NBA TV's David Aldridge.
Included on the list are the New Orleans Pelicans, who Aminu played with for three seasons until last year. Aminu could be a good value play for some team in need of a combo forward - although offensively his game may be better suited to the four. The 24-year-old is a strong defender who has never had much of a jump shot, but he performed well in Chandler Parsons' absence during the Mavs' brief playoff appearance - averaging 11.2 points and 7.2 rebounds in five games.
Dallas would love to keep the five-year veteran, and will reportedly clear the requisite cap space to make it happen. Aminu opted out of $1.1 million for next season and can likely fetch around $4 million per season on the open market.
