• Yoel Romero brought the violence against former light heavyweight overlord Lyoto Machida when the two squared off at UFC Fight Night 70 in June. "The Soldier of God" laid waste to Machida with a torrent of vicious elbows.
• Chris Weidman's reign of terror continued unabated at UFC 187, as he survived an early flurry from Vitor Belfort to retain his title with a sub-three minute TKO of "The Young Dinosaur."
• Having alternated wins and losses since 2011, Michael Bisping, who dominated CB Dollaway at UFC 186, is hoping to string together consecutive wins for the fist time in a half-decade when he faces Thales Leites in July.
• Leites has been on an absolute tear since returning to the UFC in 2013, racking up five straight wins, counting Ed Herman, Francis Carmont, and Tim Boetsch among his high-profile scalps.
• Gegard Mousasi is on the precipice of the top-five after consecutive wins over Dan Henderson and Costas Philippou. At 29, the former Strikeforce champion has all the tools to make a run at the UFC title.
