Danny Green to re-sign with Spurs on reported 4-year, $45-million deal

The San Antonio Spurs have locked up one of the best 3-and-D players in the league at a massive discount.
Danny Green and the Spurs have agreed to a four-year deal worth $45 million, reports Chris Broussard of ESPN. The move has been confirmed by Sam Amick of USA Today and also Green himself, apparently.

No deals can be signed until July 9, but there's a strong chance the Spurs and Green hold off until they sort out their intentions with LaMarcus Aldridge. The Spurs would need to make an additional move - like shedding Tiago Splitter's salary through a reported trade with the Atlanta Hawks - to facilitate a maximum offer to Aldridge.
Even without Aldridge, it's a fantastic deal for the Spurs. The 28-year-old Green is an elite perimeter defender who is impossibly accurate from deep. Green hit 42.3 percent of his threes over the past four seasons and understands the Spurs' system inside out.
To take stock, the Spurs have already reached agreements to lock down their future with agreements with Green and Kawhi Leonard. Reports also suggest that Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili will likely be back - at a discount, of course - and Aldridge might also join them.
It's almost overkill, then, to have the core pieces of a 55-win team preserved while also potentially adding a superstar.
With Green off the market, his suitors (the Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks, and Detroit Pistons) will have to look elsewhere to fill their voids.
