The Detroit Pistons have reached an agreement on a three-year deal with center Aron Baynes, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.
The deal could pay Baynes as much as $20 million over the three years, Stein reports, and there is a player option on the final year of the deal.
The 6-foot-10 Australian spent his first three years in the NBA with the San Antonio Spurs, averaging 4.8 points and 3.6 rebounds. Baynes saw his usage climb this season, with his minutes nearly doubling over his career average, leading to an uptick in his stats as he posted 6.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
The Spurs elected to non-tender Baynes, making him an unrestricted free agent.
Baynes will add to the Pistons' frontcourt depth after the team lost out on the Greg Monroe sweepstakes earlier Thursday.
