Report: Kings, Belinelli agree to 3-year, $19-million deal

After striking out in their pursuit of several big-name stars, the Sacramento Kings appear to have finally landed a free-agent shooting guard.

The Kings have reportedly agreed to terms with Marco Belinelli on a three-year, $19-million contract, according to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

CBS' Ken Berger adds that the deal contains no options.

Belinelli is coming off a pair of successful seasons in San Antonio, where he averaged 10.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.9 assists while connecting on more than 40 percent of his 3-point attempts.

Rajon Rondo, who recently agreed to terms on a one-year, $10 million deal with the franchise, asked the Kings to sign a shooter, which led to Belinelli receiving his offer, reports Yahoo Sports Marc Spears.

If the Italian guard can produce similar results in Sacramento, the Kings should be satisfied with the price given the rising salary cap. However, shooters like Belinelli benefit from the open looks created in San Antonio's pass-happy system, and the Kings, with DeMarcus Cousins and the ball-stopping Rudy Gay, likely won't generate such advantageous looks for Belinelli.

In addition, Kings fans have to be disappointed in the fact that the team mortgaged part of its future by trading draft picks in an effort to clear cap space in pursuit of names like Wesley Matthews and Monta Ellis, only to come up with Belinelli.
