The NBA emoji extravaganza continued deep into the night Wednesday, with DeAndre Jordan holed up in his Houston house with several Los Angeles Clippers, ready to renege on a verbal deal with the Dallas Mavericks.
When Jordan signs with the Clippers, as he is expected to do sometime after midnight ET, the Mavericks will be back to having about $18 million to spend on a free-agent big man – in a very thinned-out market.
Veteran center Tyson Chandler, who has opted to leave Dallas and reportedly agree to terms with the Phoenix Suns, chimed in with his two-emojis worth. This could almost certainly be viewed as Chandler's way of saying he's not changing his mind, unlike some people we know.
That burns like the sun on hot Arizona sand.
Anyhow, at least it appears that Wesley Matthews won't renege on his verbal commitment to the Mavs.
