Goran Dragic and his talents are staying put in South Beach.
Dragic officially re-signed with the Miami Heat after the league's signing moratorium was lifted on Thursday. Terms of his deal were not released, but Dragic will reportedly earn $85 million over the next five seasons, according to Ira Winderman of the Sun-Sentinel.
"When we traded for Goran last season, we knew he was the type of player and person that we wanted to be part of our HEAT culture," team president Pat Riley said in a press release.
"His pace, ability and vision for the game is the perfect complement to lead our team as we look to bring another championship to Miami. We are pleased he has re-signed and will wear the HEAT uniform for years to come and make Miami his home."
The 29-year-old solidifies a fearsome starting five in Miami alongside Dwayne Wade, Luol Deng, Chris Bosh, and breakout star Hassan Whiteside.
From an earlier report on Dragic:
One of the league's best finishing point guards and a steady outside shooter, Dragic would have stood as the best point guard available on the market. He averaged 16.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 5.3 assists after landing in Miami, shooting 50.2 percent from the floor and 70 percent at the rim.
