The Miami Heat landed themselves free agent Amar'e Stoudemire on Friday, announcing they have signed the veteran big man in a union widely expected since Thursday.
It's a one-year deal worth $1.5-million – essentially, the NBA veteran's minimum – according to USA Today's Jeff Zillgitt.
While a shadow of his former All-Star self, Stoudemire is still more than serviceable as a role player, averaging 11.5 points on almost 56 percent shooting between the New York Knicks and Dallas Mavericks last season.
Stoudemire will turn 33 at the beginning of next season, which will be his 14th in the NBA.
