Trout powers AL over NL in 86th All-Star Game
The American League will have home field advantage for the World Series for a third straight year.
Mike Trout went 1-for-3 with a home run and two runs scored as the AL All-Stars knocked off the National League All-Stars 6-3 in the 86th version of the midsummer classic.
Trout took NL starter Zack Greinke deep to lead off the game en route to becoming the first player in Major League history to be awarded the MVP in consecutive All-Star games.

"This experience has been awesome," Trout said after the game. "The fans have been great, everything. I had a blast."
Brian Dozier also homered and Prince Fielder drove in a pair of RBIs, while David Price and Wade Davis each struck out a pair in an inning of work to give the AL its 15th win in the last 19 All-Star games.
Andrew McCutchen homered for the NL, while Greinke struck out a game-high four batters in a losing effort. Jacob deGrom dazzled in his lone inning, striking out all three batters he faced on 10 pitches to set an All-Star record.
"That was unreal," deGrom said following the game.
Clayton Kershaw - who was added as a late injury replacement - was saddled with the loss after allowing two runs off three hits in one inning.
"It was fun until I started giving up runs," Kershaw told reporters. "It's not really my favorite thing in the world, that this determines home-field advantage."
