Canadiens sign Galchenyuk to 2-year contract worth reported $5.6 million

The Montreal Canadiens signed restricted free agent Alex Galchenyuk to a two-year contract, the team announced Thursday.
The deal will reportedly pay Galchenyuk $5.6 million or an average of $2.8 million, according to TSN's Pierre LeBrun.
The 21-year-old played a career-high 80 games with the team this past season, setting career highs in goals with 20 and points with 46. Galchenyuk also added one goal and four points in 12 postseason games.
The contract will keep him with the club through the 2016-17 season.
