Report: Knicks have had discussions with Sasha Vujacic
Beggars can't be choosers, it's said, and the 17-win New York Knicks certainly aren't being choosy.
Looking to fill out their roster on the margins and upgrade their shooting, the Knicks have engaged in discussions with former NBA wing Sasha Vujacic, according to international basketball reporter David Pick.
Vujacic, who spent nearly the entirety of his NBA career with the Los Angeles Lakers, has appeared in just two NBA games since 2011, both coming during a 10-day run with the Los Angeles Clippers in February 2014.
Sandwiched around that stint, he's played for Anadolu Efes of the Turkish League, and, most recently, for Laboral Kutxa Baskonia of the Spanish League.
A feisty defender and solid spot-up shooter, Vujacic averaged 5.6 points and 1.9 rebounds in 478 NBA games, with a 37.1-percent mark from 3-point range.
Now 31, it's unclear what he can bring to an NBA team. With Baskonia last season, Vujacic averaged 5.2 points in 14.1 minutes per game, shooting just 30.8 percent from the field and 26.4 percent from deep.
