WSOF VP suggests UFC book Nate Diaz vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov
World Series of Fighting (WSOF) vice president Ali Abdel-Aziz has some friendly (and obvious) promotional advice for the UFC: book a bout between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Nate Diaz as soon as possible.
Diaz, along with his brother Nick Diaz, engaged in a bit of a brouhaha with Nurmagomedov at WSOF 22 last week, a mass of chaos where punches, kicks, and drinks were hurled in every direction.
"I know Khabib very good, I'm very close to him," Abdel-Aziz told MMAjunkie.com's Brent Brookhouse. "I really like Nate. And I don't want to see two guys fighting. At the end of the day they're men and I don't know how the UFC is going to feel about it. But let these guys fight. Book them and let them fight."
Never afraid to speak their minds or spew vitriol about potential opponents, the Diaz brothers always seem to have a beef with someone, which can result in promotional gold if spun the right way.
"I thought they crossed paths and they talked before on Twitter,” Abdel-Aziz said. "I know that for sure because I know both guys. I guess they had a talk and I think Nick took a swing - that's what people saw, I didn't see it. And, after that, Nate came down and I tried to slow him down too and I saw someone threw a beer bottle from Nate's camp. I don't know who threw the beer bottle."
