Clippers officially sign guard Pablo Prigioni

The Los Angeles Clippers have officially signed Pablo Prigioni, the team announced Tuesday.

The 38-year-old point guard's deal was reported earlier to be the veteran's minimum. The length of the deal has not yet been disclosed.

"I didn't even consider to choose another team or to go back to Europe. I said, I want to go there (to Los Angeles)," Prigioni told Clippers writer Rowan Kavner. "This is a team that has a group of guys that are playing together the last four or five years. Now, same coach, add a couple of new guys. This is a perfect team to go to and try to give my best and help with whatever they need to do."

Prigioni was part of a five-player trade last month which saw now-former Denver Nuggets floor general Ty Lawson relocate to the Houston Rockets.

Denver initially attempted to move Prigioni's partially guaranteed contract in a trade after acquiring him. After these efforts proved fruitless, the team decided to waive him.

A few days later, the Clippers swooped in and offered the Argentine a contract.

Prigioni entered the league prior to the 2012-13 season as a 35-year-old rookie with the New York Knicks - the oldest rookie in NBA history.

Boasting a decorated international career, Prigioni has achieved ample amounts of success abroad, namely in the reputable Argentine and Spanish leagues.

Prigioni will likely serve as one of two back-ups to Clippers starting point guard Chris Paul. He will split ball-handling duties with Austin Rivers.
