Jets' Wheeler: Ads 'would tarnish' NHL jerseys

Winnipeg Jets forward Blake Wheeler isn't thrilled with the prospect of donning a jersey featuring the NHL's corporate sponsors:
An NHL uniform is a sacred thing and it's an honor to wear one. Putting corporate sponsors on the front would tarnish that. Don't do it

The NHL reportedly struck a uniform deal with Adidas on Monday, giving the company exclusive rights to produce the jerseys worn by all 30 NHL clubs.
The deal is expected to be formally announced next month, which could pave the way for ads on jerseys when the league's current deal with Reebok expires prior to the 2017-18 season.
