Louis van Gaal rules out sale of goalkeeper David De Gea
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal claims unsettled Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea won't be leaving Old Trafford before the summer transfer window closes in 10 days.
De Gea, 24, has been linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid but van Gaal, visibly irritated with having to field questions about De Gea's future, said, bluntly, that he's not selling the player.
"I think, when Manchester United wants a player, he shall come, (except) when a club is not selling," van Gaal posed to reporters on Friday.
"Okay, then it is the same with us," he added, driving home his point. "We are not selling De Gea. It's the same."
Whether this is a hard-stop "no" or a hold-out tactic remains to be seen, but the Red Devils are reportedly holding out for a larger payout or for more assets if a deal is to be completed between the two parties.
The Dutchman will want to move quickly, though, as his latest transfer target, Barcelona winger Pedro, was stolen from right under his feet by the club's title rival, Chelsea.
