New York Giants

2014 Record 2014 Finish
6-10 3rd NFC East/11th in NFC

A six-game losing streak in the middle of the season essentially ended any hope the Giants had of contending in 2014. They were able to save face late in the season, winning three of their last four games on the strength of a ridiculous stretch in which Odell Beckham Jr. tallied 606 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.

Highlight of 2014

You've seen it a million times, but watch it again. Odell Beckham Jr.'s Week 12 catch on Sunday Night Football launched him into superstardom.

Preseason Power Ranking - #21

With a defense that finished fourth-last in the league in total defense in 2014 and did very little to address its weaknesses, the Giants will likely struggle to hold opponents under 25 points per game. They'll have to win with offense if they want to make some noise in the NFC East. More ...

2015 Season Outlook

Schedule | Roster

Head Coach: Tom Coughlin
Off. Coordinator: Ben McAdoo
Def. Coordinator: Steve Spagnuolo

The Giants have been hit with key injuries throughout the offseason. With the defense thin on talent, they'll need to click offensively if they're going to compete for a playoff berth. They certainly have the weapons to do so, with Eli Manning, a returning Victor Cruz, Beckham Jr., and Shane Vereen making up an enticing core. If the one-time wunderkind Steve Spagnuolo can get anything out of the defense, the Giants could be dangerous.

Key Additions

  • RB Shane Vereen
  • DT Kenrick Ellis
  • LT Ereck Flowers (1st round)
  • Owamagbe Odighizuwa (3rd round)
  • RT Marshall Newhouse

Key Departures

  • S Antrel Rolle
  • DE Mathias Kiwanuka
  • S Quintin Demps
  • WR Kevin Ogletree
  • DT Mike Patterson

For a 6-10 team, the Giants underwent a surprisingly small roster turnover following the 2015 season. Several defensive veterans were jettisoned and the team is hoping a combination of draft picks and low-profile veterans can pick up the slack for the big-name talent that exited. On offense, Vereen will give the passing attack a nice option out of the backfield.

Bold Predictions

Odell Beckham Jr. will break the single-season receiving yards record. Beckham will pick up where he left off as a rookie and continue embarrassing opposing DBs. Calvin Johnson's record 1,964 yards, set in 2012, will fall. - David P. Woods

The Giants will earn a top-five draft pick. The Giants are one of several NFL teams that could be in for a surprisingly disappointing season. Glaring issues in the secondary and across the offensive line will be too much for the intriguing skill-position talent to overcome, and the team will select in the top five picks of the draft for the first time since 2004. - Dan Wilkins

Giants vs. Eagles in Week 6 will be the highest-scoring game in NFL history. This Monday-nighter will feature two high-power offenses capable of putting up points quickly. The teams will surpass the 1966 Giants vs. Redskins affair that featured 113 points. Final score: Giants 59, Eagles 56. - Joe Thomson
