Mario Balotelli completes medical at AC Milan: 'I am happy to be back'
It's just a matter of time before Mario Balotelli rejoins AC Milan.
The Italian striker completed a medical with Milan on Tuesday and will be introduced as the team's newest summer signing during a press conference later in the day, officially ending his disappointing time with Liverpool.
"I am happy to be back. I don't have much to say because I just need to train and show what I can contribute," Balotelli told reporters.
Milan announced that Balotelli will arrive at Casa Milan at 1.30 p.m. local time, where it's expected he will be formally introduced.
It was reported Monday that Liverpool and the Serie A side had agreed to a season-long loan deal, with the English outfit expected to pay half his wages.
His arrival in Milan comes exactly one year after he left the Italian team to join Liverpool in a transfer worth £16 million. Balotelli went on to score one goal in 16 Premier League appearances and hadn't played a competitive match since April.
Balotelli said he'd always dreamed of a return to AC Milan.
"I always hoped I would return to Milan, the club hold a special place in my heart," he said. "Do I want to end my career here? I just want to get back to work and have a good season, I have to work and that is it."
