VIDEO: Blue Jays fans salute Encarnacion with hat-trick celebration
Even with the Blue Jays playing remarkably well, Toronto will always remind everyone that it's a hockey town.
On Saturday after designated hitter Edwin Encarnacion hammered his third home run of the game against the Detroit Tigers, fans at the Rogers Centre littered the field with hats - a custom common in hockey when a player scores three goals in one game.

"The fans throwing hats on the field, that's probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen." Blue Jays starter Drew Hutchison told MLB.com's Jamie Ross.
Encarnacion went 3-for-5 with three homers, four runs scored, and a franchise-tying nine RBIs in Toronto's 15-1 rout of the Tigers and was given the hats that hit the field after the contest.
The slugger's three homers were of the two-run, three-run, and grand slam variety, falling a solo shot short of the home run cycle.
