Kings' Lucic: playing for the Canucks has 'been a dream of mine since I've been a kid'

Milan Lucic has yet to suit up for the Los Angeles Kings, but already he's had visions of one day playing for the Vancouver Canucks.

"I honestly don't know what's going to happen moving on," Lucic told TSN 1410 Radio. "I mean I have one year left on my contract, and there's a possibility that I can hit the (unrestricted free agent) market. ...

"It's obviously something that's been a dream of mine since I've been a kid, is to play in your hometown and play for the Canucks, but right now the main focus is going down to L.A. and trying to make the most of that."

If Lucic were to one day join the Canucks that could entail becoming teammates with goaltender Ryan Miller - a player with whom the new King shares a checkered past. He even alluded to that past while speaking of the possibility of facing former Boston Bruins teammate Tuuka Rask.

"I'm good buddies with Tuukka so I would love to get one past him," said Lucic. "Maybe run through him like I did another goalie that I ran through before."

In the meantime, Lucic is focused solely on bringing his new club back to the postseason and challenging for another Stanley Cup.

"If you look at the roster, we're still a really deep team that has another chance to make a Cup run," Lucic said. "So right now I'm more worried about that than anything else."
