Report: 5 teams have contacted Blackhawks about potential Kane trade
Following allegations of sexual assault, five teams have reportedly contacted the Chicago Blackhawks willing to make a trade for Patrick Kane, a league source told Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun Times.
The source maintains that the five clubs reached out to the Blackhawks after Buffalo News broke the story about the allegations against Kane, wondering if the team would be willing to cut ties with the 26-year-old following his latest run in with the law.
Lazerus cited another source who said Kane had been warned not to put himself in any more bad situations following his Cinco de Mayo escapades in 2012. Meanwhile, a team source noted that the Blackhawks have "run out of patience."
Kane is entering the first of an eight-year, $84-million contract. Meanwhile, the investigation involving Kane is still ongoing.
