Report: Patrick Kane case headed to grand jury
An Erie County grand jury will begin hearing evidence next week regarding the sexual assault allegation against NHL superstar Patrick Kane, multiple sources told the Buffalo News.
Legal experts indicated it's likely that both Kane and his accuser will be invited to testify before the grand jury.
The 23-member grand jury will hear all the evidence presented by the district attorney, then vote on whether there's enough to support a criminal charge against the Chicago Blackhawks forward.
Police and medical experts could also be called to testify.
Kane, who's reportedly met with investigators, has been under investigation since early August after an alleged incident took place at his home in Hamburg outside Buffalo, N.Y.
Chicago's training camp is set to open Sept. 18.
