No one player in the history of the esteemed EuroBasket tournament has scored more points than France's Tony Parker.
The San Antonio Spurs' point guard broke the record Monday afternoon with his first basket against Poland - a crisp 17-foot jumper without a defender in sight.
Heading into the outing, the 33-year-old Frenchman was tied with Greece's Nikos Galis at 1,030 points following an 11-point performance Sunday in a blowout victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the tournament's opening two games, Parker is averaging 17 points, four assists, and 3.5 rebounds on 48.1 percent shooting.
He had previously competed in 61 games over eight European championships, leading France to a gold medal against Lithuania in 2013.
