Report: LeBron summons Cavs teammates to pre-camp workouts in Miami

After struggling to start last season and ultimately coming up two wins short of a championship, LeBron James is "still not quite over" the loss and wants his Cleveland Cavaliers to hit the ground running in 2015-16.

James has summoned his Cavs teammates to Miami this week and next for pre-training camp workouts, according to a report from Chris Haynes of Northeast Ohio Media Group.

Haynes adds that several players and coaches have already arrived for the pre-camp, which will wrap early next week. Brian Windhorst of ESPN writes that James has already been spending time with rehabbing teammate Kyrie Irving in South Florida. This is nothing new for the four-time MVP, as James used to bring his Miami Heat teammates to Ohio for the same reason.

Irving is recovering from surgery to repair a fractured kneecap and may not be ready for the start of the season, while Anderson Varejao, Kevin Love, and Timofey Mozgov are also on the comeback trail. The team didn't undergo much roster turnover this summer, but they'll need to acclimate new faces in Mo Williams, Richard Jefferson, and Sasha Kaun.

The biggest question around the pre-camp may be the status of Tristan Thompson, a restricted free agent James has expressed his fondness for and with whom he shares an agent. Thompson and the Cavs still reportedly remain apart in negotiations, making it possible Thompson signs his one-year qualifying offer and becomes an unrestricted free agent next summer.

Neither report explored Thompson's status for the pre-camp, but there should be a resolution to his situation soon with the team's official camp opening on Sept. 28.
