Report: Cavs' Thompson won't attend LeBron's pre-training camp
Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Tristan Thompson will not attend the pre-training camp that LeBron James coordinated, North East Ohio Media Group's Chris Haynes reported on Friday.
James' Miami-based gathering begins Friday, and news of the camp was reported Tuesday.
Thompson, a restricted free agent, is in the midst of a prolonged contract negotiation with Cavaliers brass.
Haynes confirmed most of the Cavs' core players would be in attendance - namely Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, Anderson Varejao, J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert, and new additions Mo Williams, Richard Jefferson, and Sasha Kaun.
The ongoing drama between Thompson's representation and the Cavs' front office has been a major - and protracted - storyline this summer, and remains worth tracking as players are due to report to official training camps in mere weeks.
