Morris twins incur another delay in aggravated assault case
The aggravated assault case involving Phoenix Suns forward Markieff Morris and Detroit Pistons forward Marcus Morris won't be settled until the season gets underway.
The Morris twins appeared in Maricopa County Superior Court for a pretrial conference Tuesday to discuss their motion for a new grand jury, Paul Coro of AZ Central reports.
In that meeting, the Morris twins accepted Judge Joan Sinclair's offer to reschedule the hearing about the motion to Oct. 15. Since the date overlaps with the NBA's preseason, the Morris twins won't have to attend. Instead, legal representatives will appear on their behalf.
Marcus and Markieff Morris were charged as accomplices in an aggravated assault case dating back to Jan. 24. The twins, however, seek a new grand jury in the case, as they claim the prosecutors presented "false and misleading evidence."
If the case doesn't go to a new grand jury, the next pretrial conference is set to take place on Nov. 5.
