Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Lovie Smith confirmed All-Pro defensive tackle Gerald McCoy suffered a strained shoulder in Sunday's 26-19 win against the New Orleans Saints.
McCoy downplayed the severity of the injury, stating he was fine postgame, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.
McCoy left the game late in the fourth quarter, and was examined by trainers on the sidelines. Prior to leaving the game, McCoy recorded two tackles, a sack, and a pass deflection.
Arguably the league's best defensive tackle, McCoy recorded a sack in both of the Buccaneers games thus far, and appears to be in elite form.
