On a clear night at the Allianz Arena, Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski went on a wolf hunt.
Having come on at halftime with his team facing a 1-0 deficit to VfL Wolfsburg, the Polish forward took one look at opposition goalkeeper Diego Benaglio and utterly ripped him, and Wolfsburg, apart to spur the hosts to a 5-1 victory.
It was, very much, a solo effort: in nine minutes of play, Lewandowski scored five goals. Five. Five goals in nine minutes. Take that in. It was, perhaps, the most inspired substitution in the history of soccer. Manager Pep Guardiola must have felt like a genius.
