The Toronto Maple Leafs have claimed defenseman Frank Corrado off waivers from the Vancouver Canucks, as first reported by Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
Corrado attended Leafs practice Tuesday, calling his arrival a "dream come true" and joking about the media attention in Toronto:
He was placed on waivers by the Canucks on Monday. Had Corrado cleared, Vancouver intended to assign him to their AHL affiliate, the Utica Comets.
He appeared in 10 games for the Canucks last season, registering one goal. He also collected 16 points in 35 games with the Comets.
The Canucks made Corrado a fifth-round pick in 2011.
