Jake Allen's time is now.
The St. Louis Blues goaltender has been taking on the lion's share of the starts in net due to an injury suffered by counterpart Brian Elliott, and continued to seize his opportunity with a 45-save shutout win over the Nashville Predators on Saturday.
Allen also set a new personal benchmark with the win:
With the win, Allen improved his record to 6-3-0, and has allowed only 15 goals on 275 shots, good for a save percentage of .945.
Much was expected of Allen when he was drafted 34th overall by the Blues in 2008, and he finally seems ready to take the reins as a bona fide No. 1 goalie.
